12 Pieces I Actually Wear Every Week
An honest inventory of the staples that survive the daily cycle of laundry, mood shifts, and changing weather.
Despite years of documenting style, I find myself returning to the same small stack of garments week after week. The fashion industry talks constantly about trends, but true personal style is built on repetition. It is about finding the items that make you feel entirely like yourself, and wearing them until the seams soften and the fabrics mold to your shape.
Here are the twelve pieces that form the bedrock of my daily wardrobe, chosen for their quality, versatility, and comfort.
1. The Oversized Poplin Shirt Bought two sizes up, this shirt is crisp but relaxed. I wear it tucked into vintage denim, thrown open over a ribbed tank top, or layered under a knit vest. It transitions effortlessly from a client meeting to a Sunday walk.
2. Straight-Leg Vintage Denim A pair of 100% cotton denim in a classic mid-blue wash. No stretch. They were stiff when I first got them, but after a year of wear, they fit like a glove. They look structured but feel like sweatpants.
3. The Black tailored Blazer A wool blazer with slightly dropped shoulders. It acts as instant armor. Even if I am wearing a simple white tee and jeans, throwing this blazer on makes me feel put together and ready for creative work.
4. Cream Fisherman Rib Knit A heavy, warm cotton-wool blend knit. Perfect for slow mornings or windy coastal walks. The texture adds depth to simple outfits.
“A wardrobe should not be a museum of things you might wear; it should be a collection of tools you use every single day.”
5. Classic Leather Loafers Black, minimal, and broken in. I wear them with crew socks in the spring and barefoot in the summer. They ground any look.
6. The Organic Ribbed Tank A thick, high-neck ribbed cotton tank in white and grey. They wash beautifully and hold their shape, acting as the ultimate layering base.
7. Trench Coat An ankle-length double-breasted trench in a washed sage-beige hue. It keeps me dry on rainy afternoons and adds a classic silhouette to casual wear.
8. Silk Slip Skirt A bias-cut midi skirt in matte charcoal. It packs down to nothing and can be dressed down with an oversized sweater or dressed up with silk blouses.
9. Cashmere Crewneck A lightweight black cashmere sweater. Soft, warm, and highly breathable. I wear it thrown over my shoulders or as a base layer.
10. Pleated Linen Trousers Wide-leg cream linen trousers for warm summer afternoons. They look airy but remain elegant when paired with leather accessories.
11. Minimal Canvas Tote A heavy-duty canvas bag large enough for a laptop, film camera, and a book. It goes everywhere with me.
12. Gold Hoop Earrings Medium-sized, lightweight gold hoops that catch the light. They are the only jewelry I never take off.
